كلما أممنا البحر
هاربين من جحيم البغايا والصيارفة..
من خدع المهرجين ورماد المعنى.
هاجمتنا قافلة الدموع والنوستالجيا.
رفقا يا عمنا إسرافيل
الريح
تضرب قاربنا بعصاها الغليظة
مثل خادمة مقوسة الظهر
تلسع جباهنا بنبرتها الرجيمة
خذها بعيدا في سيارتك الليموزين
لتذرنا نتطوح في عرض البحر
تربكنا نواقيس المياه
رقصة التابوت في الأفق
زعانف السمك مناديل عزاء.
يا عمنا إسرافيل
يا ملك الرياح البراقماتي
فقدنا مصابيحنا في قاع النص
ومن صلصال أيامنا اللزجة
صنعنا جرارا
ثم ملأناها بالعرق والدموع
وكلما مر ملاك من هنا
آملين حملها إلى الله
طاردته كلاب سلوقية.
الخفافيش وبومة الحظ العمياء.
السحرة بأسمال مرقعة
وعيون أفاعي المامبا.
إنتظرناك طويلا يا عمنا إسرافيل
لتحملنا في سيارتك الفاخرة
إلى الفردوس الموعود.
لا استوى المعنى على سوقه
ولا انكشفت مستدقات السجف.

Whenever we lead the way to the sea
Escaping from the hell of prostitutes and bankers,
From clowns’ deceptions and ashes of meaning,
The convoy of tears and nostalgia attacked us.
Mercy us, Uncle Israfil (1)
The wind
Hits our boat with her big baton
Like an arched back maid
Who stings our foreheads with her accursed tone
Take it away in your limousine
To carry us away wandering at sea
Water bells confuse us
Coffin dance on the horizon
Fish fins condolence wipes.
Oh, Uncle Israfil
Oh, pragmatic king of winds
We lost our lamps at the bottom of the text
And from the clay of our sticky days
We made jars
Then we filled it with sweat and tears
And whenever an angel passes by,
Hoping to carry it to God,
Greyhounds had just chased him,
Bats and blind luck owl,
Witches in patchwork rags
And the mamba snakes' eyes.
We have been waiting for you for a long time, Uncle Israfil
To carry us in your luxury car
to the promised paradise.
Either the meaning was not straightened up in its context
Nor the mysterious subtleties were not exposed.
